Dr. Rupak Desai, MBBS, is a physician–scientist trained in India and currently based in the United States.He serves as a Research Associate in the Division of Cardiology at the Atlanta VA Medical Center (affiliated with Emory University) and holds an academic appointment at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center – Permian Basin.

His expertise includes cardiovascular outcomes, health disparities, behavioral and mental health epidemiology, and large-scale database analytics.
He has conducted research on PCI, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, and published meta-analyses on COVID-19 outcomes.
